Starting from the Katandra Road picnic area, you’ll head past Seymour Pond and along Toomey Walk to the Strangler Fig platform, an approximately 2km return walk.

Description: Head out on a bush adventure to hear a magical tale about Greenleaf the Elf who lives happily in the rainforest surrounded by his many tree friends. A chance encounter with flying flower fairies propels Greenleaf on an unlikely quest to fly. Walk through Katandra Reserve amongst the trees, ferns, bellbirds, and fairies. You’ll see some amazing fairy creations and walkways as you make your way to the end of the Toomey Track where the Great Strangler Fig is located. Here you can sit down and listen to the story of Greenleaf the Elf.

Bio: Lindy is a storyteller, celebrant, and author with a passion for sparking imagination and creating magic. After a career in horticulture, Lindy completed a degree in Literature. She then wove her love of nature with her love of story and began writing nature tales. Lindy has been president of the Australian Storytellers, a guest storyteller at conferences and festivals, as well as a published author of two children’s books, articles, and contributions to the Australian Fairytale Anthology. Lindy has lived on the Central Coast for 30 years with her three daughters. She is now married to a Swedish storyteller, Ulf, and divides their time between Sweden and Australia.
